Sunday School And Youth Ministries
Sunday School Philosophy
2. Children have a simple faith which is needed for salvation (Matthew 18:2-3). 3. Children have their whole lives ahead of them to live for God. We believe that God has called the parents as the first line of communicating God's truth to children. 1. Teach these words diligently to thy children (Deuteronomy 6:6,7). 2. Hear the instruction of thy father (Proverbs 1:8; 4:1). 3. Train up a child in the way he should go (Proverbs 22:6). 4. God intended the parents to be the greatest influence in the child's life. That is why God gave children to them. We believe that God has called the church to assist the parents in teaching God's truth to children. 2. God has given Sunday School teachers, Beginner and Junior Church teachers and Overcomers Club teachers to assist the pastor in carrying out the work of training children. The teacher must teach exactly as the pastor would in each classroom so there is a oneness in the church. 3. Teachers in children's ministry are special people. a. Teachers are fighting against all the evil influences a child has experienced during the week. 4. Most parents are not coming to church. Therefore, for the church to receive their children and teach them God's Word is a responsibility that must not be neglected.
We will attempt to accomplish this through: The preaching and teaching of our pulpit Private and public Bible study and prayer Courses on discipleship and Bible curriculums Participation in programs of evangelism Overcomers Club helpers Summer camp Memorial Weekend retreats Sunday School Participation in programs of ministry training Mission trips Medi-lodge nursing home ministry Choir, special music Young people must be taught the clear commandments of God's Word. The Bible says in The purpose of the local church youth ministry is to help equip families with the necessary tools from God's Word to lay the right foundation for the rest of life. It is not the task of the church to take the place of parents by keeping young people active while separated from home and family. We must work to help entire families serve the Lord ogether. The essential for the youth minister is to walk with God and work with parents.

Overcomers Club
The Overcomers Club is a ministry which CCBC has started to minister to children on Wednesday nights during the school calendar year. The church sends out our buses into the neighborhood to bring in as many children as possible. These are separated into age based groups who enjoy Bible study, Bible handwork, games and refreshments. The children are then transported back home on the buses.
Our purpose in having the Overcomers Club is to:
See children, ages four to sixth grade, come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
See children, ages four to sixth grade, discipled in the understanding of God's Word.
(Luke 2:52)
See children come to a place in their life where they will establish personal devotions.
See children bring their parents to the church.
See children begin to serve Christ in the local church.
See children surrender to full time ministry in the Lord's harvest field.
